(1) 1981 Chevrolet Scottsdale Stepside (Before)
This is a collection of pictures of my truck shortly after I bought it (1991). At this point, the only thing that I had done was to tint the windows and add a nose mask.

(2) 1981 Chevrolet Scottsdale Stepside (Rebuild)
Back in 1999, With the help of some friends, we did a make over on my truck. Working on weekends only, we started in March and finished in August. With the previous paint job being in lacquer, all of the top surfaces were cracked so they had to be taken down to bare metal. The cab corners, rockers and floor pans were replaced. The frame from the cab back was cleaned and painted black. The interior was painted base/clear with 1981 Chevrolet Medium Metallic Blue (Original color)

(3) 1981 Chevrolet Scottsdale Stepside (After Rebuild)
This is what we ended up with in August 1999. I replaced the factory rubber flooring with carpeting. I installed a tilt steering column and a guage cluster from a 1977 Blazer with a factory tach. I replaced all of the emblems, door opening rubbers, door, glove box and ashtray bumpers and inner and outer window sashes. I installed a Pioneer Truck Rides Series head unit and a Pioneer CD changer in a custom box behind the new (Per-owned) bucket seat unit with a fold down center seat with console. We made and installed Red oak in the interior and in the box floor fastening it down with hand made stainless strips. Another friend did a little airbrushing on the tailgate. I installed new Michelin LTX M/S 32 X 11.5 x 15 on American Racing rims.

(4) 1981 Chevrolet Scottsdale Stepside (2009)
Up until this point, nothing under the hood has been touched. About 4 years ago, I pulled the motor/trans in prep for installing a new one. But financial and medical problems left it in storage like that until now. Monday, with the help of a friend, we pulled off the front clip. I'm in the process of removing the baked on factory undercoating from the firewall and cleaning the front frame. Then I'll paint the frame black. I found a rad support from a 1991 Suburban so it will be installed in place of the original one. My friend will paint the firewall, inside of the front fenders, inner fenders and the inside of the rad support base/clear in body color. Before installing the front clip back on, we'll install a fresh SBC 350 bored .030, mild cam, Performer intake, Carter AFB Performer Series 625 CFM polished carb topped with a Corvette double snorkel breather, MSD cap, rotor and wires, Accel blueprinted billet dist and HEI super coil. (More pics to follow)
