I drive an 89 Ford Ranger, and I know I am fairly limited because of that. It is a 6 cylinder with 4x4, but that seems to only really help on the low end. Even pulling a small bass boat seems to be very taxing on the truck. It is not unusual to drop to 45 or 40 on the hills of Kentucky on the way to the lake. Are there ways to increase towing capacity without spending too much money? The truck is 20 years old, so I am not sure if there is much I can do. Any advise for a not so mechanical mind would help.
