I have a 2001 F350 7.3 ltr supercab longbed automatic.....
I went fishing yesterday pulled my boat up out of a pretty knarly area so i put it in 4x4 high i think.....when i got to top of hill ...i tried to go back into 2x4 but it wont go back in....it is stuck in 4x4 low.....it was a dry day and i read in a forum that somtimes if the hubs get wet and dirty that can happen....why it would i dont know..its a 4x4 right?
this truck has lock and auto on the hubs and a switch inside the cab

i'm not sure about the 4x4 engage device for your year, but good for all 4x4's is to put it into reverse go about ten feet. stop. then first and go ten feet. repeat a couple of time and that many times unfreezes any stubborn parts.
