hey, i'm new to both this site and to making changes to my truck. i'll cut to my question. i have an '88 ranger SLT 5speed 2x4. i want to go fast both on highway and moderatly offroad. and i'm looking for advise on what i need to change or add to make this possible.

want to go fast in a ranger?? you'll need to drop a lot of cash or a V8 in it
another option? get a sports car and put a ranger emblem on it
in all reality though your best option is to swap engines, you didn't say what engine size you had, but a Ranger engine(any size) are not noted for being power-houses

I’m sorry for sounding completely ignorant to these things, let me rephrase. I do not expect my truck to do 190 on the autobahn. I’m not that naïve. What I would like, however, is to get more speed. Realistic speed of course. And yes look pretty doing it.

a bro dont let these ford haters plex you!ive got an 1995 ranger extra cab with a 2.3 in it im not gonna break the sound barrie but ill race any chevy ,toy,nissan, ect with a 4 banger in it!ive got a cold air ,cut the cat out, cam kit coil paks ,ignition and i can cruise at 90 mph with 2 dirt bikes in the back, and ive got 198000miles on it i dont burn or leak any oil.

hay im building a 94 289 cid to drop in my 95 ranger xlt extra cab truck is there any advise to help speed the swap out? i dont want to cut the fire wall i want to be fuel injected and possably s-charged
