I have a 97 Silverado with a 305 in it, and it seems to destroy dist. caps. They always get wet inside. I have even gone as far as a new distributor to try to solve the issue. The truck only has 82,000 on it and only sees mild off road use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.[:@]

Water in the distributor can be quite a pain. you may want to check for cracks or condinsation in the rear of the engine compartment. if this problem continues, you shoud check the ignition system. A diagnostic computer can help locate specific problems. A friend of mine sealed off hie electiral connections with silcone to prevent shorts and problems with condensation.
