I have a 2000 B2500 and both tailgate cables rusted from the inside and broke in the middle. Was there a recall I didn't hear on? And how do I fix these.

I have same pronblem on my 1998 S10 , You can get new cables from NAPPA for about 23 bucks , its a common problem.

on a mazda?..i've not seen that..gm recalled a bunch

No idea bout the recall, but, u definitely get them fixed and if under warranty, it'll be much easier
