This may have been talked about somewhere in this forum already so go easy on me.
The other day the ABS and Brake light My 2001 ram 1500 5.9 came on at the same time.
I see no upfront problems. When the trucks starts the lights go through the normal test then shut off, after about 60 secs of driving the lights come back on and saty on. Brakes are good, cleaned the wheel sensors, checked wiring (since there was a recall on the 99 ABS wheel sensor wiring getting rubbed) for bad places, and speedo stills works. I read that there is rear sensor, has anyone had this issue and R&R the rear sensor to fix it, how much $ and how hard was it?

as a quick easy check, is the fluid full?

Thx for asking. The 1st thing I did was pull over and check fluid, it is fine and looks clean. I'm thinking of going through the bleed sequence next.

i believe that the last sensor that you are thinking of is on the passenger side of the differential housing, but i am not 100% sure.

Thx Patrick, I'll have to look into that this weekend. I'm also going to bleed out all 4. Not sure what else to check. I did the key on/off trick to see the codes and all that displays is "done". So there must not be any codes logged.

I'm off to the Napa to buy the sensor. It's cold out this morning in CO. and my barn has no heat, can't hardly wait for the finger freeze to be taken over by numbness. lol If changing the speed sensor or bleeding works, case closed.

no good news. Speed Sensor did not fix anything. I gave in and took it to a shop to scan for codes and there are none. So the next step is to look at replacing the pigtail to the sensor. Case is still open for comments.
