How do you remove the plastic motor cover to the blower motor? the motor will only work on low,is the motor bad or something else? thanks in advance mark

if it blows on low,the motor is good..could be trhe switch, resistor or relays...but look for a big red wire behind the case...a connector back there likes to melt

as for that rubber cover...its a pain.

i bet your plug on the back of the a/c head is melted maybe...here's why..

if the motor runs on 1 speed, its good...its just an electric motor..it runs or it does not.

12 v and around 30 amps are supplied at all times...however,the selector switch routes trhe amps thru resistors,to slow the fan down.if you had just 1 speed inop,i'd say its a resistor..

on high, its different...the current runs directly thru a relay at full amperage....so if high only is bad,its probably that relay.

it could very well be the resistor, but that wasn't so in my case. i have a 97 sierra and the problem was a melted wire harness behind the blower control dial. the clip that goes to the wiring harness and the clip that plugs into the back of the blower control dial were both melted. this is a common problem from what i've heard. I went to a wrecker and got both pieces from a write off that weren't melted and installed them today, blower works on all speeds ... for now.
