I have a 1999 sierra Z71, i want a Westin sportsman CPS Modular grille gaurd (http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/westin_sportsman_cps.htm) and i want a Warn winch , so i went to the GM dealership and they had the westin grille and a warn winch but the person that helped me said that the wetsin cannot hold the winch and that it is only for looks. is he right? because i thought i could mount it between the two main bars. but im not sure because i dont know much about this kinda stuff.

any repies would be greatly apretiated thanks.

If you are really serious about offroading and want a winch and brush guard a better solution (structurally) would be to mount the winch underneath and tie it into the trucks chassis or bumper with extended 1/4" plates and some big meaty welds and bolts, it might not look as cool but it will get the job done
