hey I just got a 1989 Toyota 4x4 and would like to replace the fuel filter and i thought it would be in a similar spot as my 80's Celica but it isnt, anyone who can tell me where it is would be awesome.

It is on the passenger side frame rail behind the XTRs cab if you have one. There is a permament housing that you open up and pop inthe new filter. Preferably use a flared wrench I had the pleasure oncr, but a reular wrench will work, it is pressureized so watch the eyes. I wish to hell I had the internet to help me. avgjoe Al 02-20-2007, 02:37 AM It looks a little judging by the date of the post but just in case someone else cannot locate their fuel filter, on my 89 4runner it is located on the engine block above the starter on the passenger side, i can see mine when i remove the small plate on the engine side of the fender |
