New member - Help, Please... Thanks!!

My '91 GMC sierra k2500 z71, the engine cuts out when I shift gear lever (Automatic) from P to R or D & back. It happens randomly. When I hold Lever closer to steering wheel & engage gears slowly, usually helps.

Sometimes, engine cuts out while driving, Usually when turning left. I shift to N & it fires up again, like nothing!!!

I've been told it's a possible short/improper ground, due to exposed/uninsulated wire in steering column.
