Default Poor gas mileage

I have a 2001 GMX Sonoma ext cab 4.3l 4x4 with the susp pkg that gets 13.4 mpg!

How is that possible out of a v6?

It's is running fine there's no black exhaust smoke there's no gas leaks, I've had a tune up, and I'm not riding with the emergency brake on nor am I towing a 10,000 lb camper!

I was talking to a New Corvette owner the other dau and he said his vettes AVERAGES 24 mpg and highway was 30?

I'm wondering if they make a vette in Ext cab and 4 whell drive?

any thoughts?

would a clogged catalytic converter do this?

it's about the OMLY thing I haven't checked!

thanks chris

Ever replaced your O2 sensors? They could very well indeed cause that. Also, make sure you don't have a caliper sticking up front, and make sure nothing is stuck in the drums either.

There is defenitely something wrong there, and yes the new Corvettes are surprisingly fuel efficient, but I think if you can afford a new vette, you don't care about fuel efficiency much haha.

I would maybe look at your tire alignment. If it is out, that could also lower your fuel efficiency.
