Default 00 Z71 159K miles, a couple of issues

Hi all, Newbie here...

I'm currently having two issues with the truck. the first involves the Mirror and Temp sensor. About a month ago it started intermitently reading High temps. I mean it's obviously 15 deg outside and the mirror says 95? Restart the truck and it's normal for a little while then it starts creeping up. Now it's 60 deg outside and it's reading 114? and yes I've changed it between C and F to make sure it's on F....

Second issue and more important. At about the same time as the mirror started wigging out. While you're driving down the road the Dash resets like you shut off the truck. I mean the Battery light comes on in the information center/gauges go to zero/seatbelt light starts flashing/brake light lights/Air bag lights etc.. But the truck is still running fine. It lasts for about 3 seconds then everything is normal?

Ideas etc.. Thanks

Woah. I know it sounds a little ... generic, but loose grounds or dead shorts on Chevys in general....

I have a Kenworth that does the same thing when you warm the cab up too much. lol
