holy crap you are looking to do the exact same thing i am but i cant figure out what size tire i want either...what type of tire are you thinking about? right now i am running a 305/70/r16 so i really think that the 305/55/r20 would work but i cant get an answer out of anyone....

im thinking between a Cooper Zeon LTZ or Nitto terra grappler these are the two big ones im looking at. i just dont know what size to get like 275/55/20 will fit nice on the truck but i sort of want a wider tire so i was just thinking will 285 and 295 and 305 will those fit? lol

The tire size on my truck are 285x50x20. Tires by Yokohama Parada Spec -X. They are smooth and quite. Traction is great wet or dry. Bad side tires wear out quickly. Best all season performance tire out there in my point of view.

those come in all the sizes i want and are really cheap. i just want a little more aggressive tire cause the rims i am getting are pretty aggressive. so the cooper zeon LTZ look real aggressive

As long as your truck is not lowered. The 275x55x20 may rub on the front. With regards to cooper tires I have never had any luck with them, had front end shakes and vibration issues. Good luck on your decision.....

its not lowered since its a Z71 i thought it automatically came with a 2.5 inch lift from the suspension thats on it. but those tires should fit i hope

I have an 04 GMC Sierra with factory 20's on it. It is not a 4x4, but it does have the torsion bar suspension on the front. My factory size tires are 275/55/20 and they do not rub. I beleive the Z71 sits a bit taller in the front comapred to my truck. So your clearance should be good. As far as the 305/50/20's... I know on the Tahoes the tires will rub on the inside a bit. But once again I beleive teh Z71's sit a bit higher in teh front. Go to a tire shop have them mount you the size tire you are interested in and see if it clears. I know Discount Tire was going to do that for me when I was looking for a taller tire, but they did not have the taller tire in stock. As far as an All Season tire I am running Michelin LTXs. I got 65K miles on them and tehy are only half worn out. I even get off road with them on the deer lease wiht know problems. But if you are wanting an Allterrain tire go with BFGs or the Nitto Grapplers. ou will not go wrong with either 1 of those.

it depends too on how wide u want ur tires...all the sizes u are metioning should work fine but if you want a little wider i would go with the 305..that is what i have now with 16" wheels and they stic out maybe a half inch from the side of my truck and i love it...let me know what u decide to go with
