08 Silverado 1500 turning problem
#13
Well I did some more research on 4" lift kits and 305/55/20 tires and found a write up with a picture on what to cut to stop the rubbing.
I will be doing this with a dremel as soon as I get home. Woohoo I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Well I found out an interesting thing tonight. The truck is still doing this on tight turns so I never actually fixed it. Today I was watching the instrument panel and when the truck acted like it was rubbing the traction control symbol was coming on and then the light would turn off when I start straightening the wheel back. So this would explain why I feel the truck slow way down when I hear the supposedly rubbing. So the sound I'm hearing is the traction control taking over and applying the ABS correct? What would cause the traction control to kick on, I'm just making a slow semi-sharp turn not even close to full lock. I have 33" tires, tuff country 4" lift, and a locking rear differential that was a factory option. If I turn off t/c then the truck acts completely normal no matter how sharp or slow I go so I know nothing is rubbing now but now have a different issue.

After doing some research I found this "GM’s sophisticated StabiliTrak electronic stability control system is standard on crew cab models" and this "Chevy Silverado 1500 & 4" Lift Kits - 2007 thru 2008
Tuff Country's 4" Suspension Lift Kit for the 2007-2008 Chevy Silverado is designed to give unmatched strength, durability and allow for a quicker installation. This highly engineering lift kit uses a sub frame system consisting of two cross members that are connected by a heavy duty skid plate. Factory front struts can be retain through the use of the unique strut spacers, which allows for a near factory ride and reduced costs. Once install this lift kit allows for use of 33" tires.
4" Lift Kit will not fit vehicles with VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) "
So I have no idea what to do? Just turn off traction control everytime I get in the truck?
