Default 08 Silverado surge??

Hey All, I just bought an 08 Silverado crew cab with 37k on it.5.3 engine I test drove this vehicle and it was fine. I've only put about 125 miles on it and I've noticed the last couple of days that under normal acceleration away from a stop sign for instance that it kind of surges up to 40 mph or so. You can see it a little on the tach. It's not like anything is slipping tranny wise but more like a fuel or spark problem. It's not throwing any codes I'm an old school wrench turner but does anybody have any ideas about this?
Thanks in advance

I would first try cleaning the Mass Air Sensor. When these get dirty, they can make the truck shift weird and hesitation.
