09 GMC is just the beginning..
Since this is the GMC Sierra forum I will post this here. To start my wife (believe it or not) said last August, "honey you need a new truck" so we bought me the crew cab red 1500 with the 327 aka 5.3l 315 hp. I added a K&N is all so far. Now for the kicker, in 1 day God himself has smiled on this Chevy lover. I have been after my late dad's 58 Chevy Apache for 4 years from my brother in law. It is in awesome restorable condition. All original which I plan to make it a purist Chevy and a rolling tribute to my daddy. I must have rode a kabillion miles with him in that truck. man I miss him and being a Christian I will see him again one day. So TODAY my brother in law comes across with the keys. and I was praising God and at the same time about to crap my pants. Here is the other part. My oldest son is a mechanical genius. He is 19 and an on the road diesel mechanic for the largest International dealership in southern WV. They work on any type of diesel and I swear he is a diesel engine. he understands them like I can understand to breathe. Also my other son is going into the United States Marince Corp in June to be a Combat vehicle repair specialist so we are wanting to build me, and both my son's the most awesome vehicle we can find. For my boys. I am so proud of them both......and a little bit of my inner boy coming out to play haha. Well to make a long story short, My oldest son calls me today and has secured from his boss a 56 Chevy 2 door BelAir with a built 327 for..................2500.00. I literally almost had a coronary. I will have in my garage, my dad's 58 chevy apache and a 56 2 door hardtop belair. The Belair, no mattter how stout the 327 will be built to run as high as I can on pump gas but I will not destroy the outside or interior, just boost the stiffness of the chassis and maybe diff, trans and drive line. Anyway, thanks for letting me share my dream come true. I am 44 with bad asbestosis pray I will live to see these both done. I'm ok but wow, this is great. Moderator please let this post stay. It is the greatest car day of my life. LONG LIVE GM! thanks guy and gals.P.S. I am a regular Joe living on a modest budget. that's the biggest miracle of all.

I can tell you have your priorities in order. You have enough projects to keep you busy for years. Build those memories with your sons like your Dad did with you. You'll never be sorry. Let us know how it goes.

PS If you get tired of that old '56, let me know. I'll take it off your hands.
