Default 09 silverado 5.3l eng knock

just bought my truck. 2000 miles and everytime i start it in the am, or after it sits for awhile, it knocks briefly then goes away. Took it to dealer and they said they couldnt duplicate it and not to worry. it has 100000 mile warranty. Has anyone else had or heard of this problem?

They are known to do that when they get some miles on them 100K plus, but not brand new. I would be persistant with the dealer or find another one that will resolve the problem.

I called chevy and now have a case. They are going to contact the dealer and hopefully take care of the issue. Why is it so damn difficult for people to back up there product?!?!?!?!?! I agree a NEW TRUCK SHOULD NOT KNOCK!

It seems to be that way with everything these days. They all talk a good game and promise you the world until the money exchanges hands then your on your own (or else it seems that way). I just had this conversation the other day. I was fighting with NationWide Insurance for over 3 months to get a claim covered. They are the biggest crooks in the insurance world by the way! Like most companies they are happy when the money is going in there direction, but when it comes time for them to do what you are paying them for...well you are going through it now. What it has boiled down to lately is me becoming a huge a-hole to get anything accomplished. If your nice and civilized they'll walk all over you! Good Luck Man!!!!

Well my 01 has 200k miles on it and it has been doin it for a long time and no power loss or problems. I think its the knock you hear from the timing to advance and then the computer retards it till it stops. Trust me, its normal.

I think it may be normal on a truck with some miles on it, but new? I just dont think a new truck should knock. Ill see what chevy does for me.
