1986 C10 Project Help!
Ok, so im thinking about restoring my father's old 86 C10 I cannot find alot of info on it. I'm thinking about pretty much leaving stock other than maybe switching the rear drum brakes for disc. however i do not have any info on anyone ever doing this. could definately use some guidance on this one. Also i was wanting to change the 305 small block to a 350. dont know if a should leave it Carb'd or go with fuel injection. if so would i need to have the ECU flashed or buy a new one. Also i'm pretty sure the currently installed turbo 350 tranny will fit with the 350 motor, please correct me if i'm wrong. other than that i think i can get alot of stuff that's tough to find from LMC. I have already used them quite a few times to fix some things with my father. Any info or recommendations or insight would be greatly appreciated, i am very mechanically inclined do all maintenance on my vehicles myself, however i haven't ever done a resto before.

You don't have to worry about the swap it is as straight forward as it gets. Everything will bolt right up including the transmission. I would leave it carbed just for simplicity sake. No worry about reflashing the ECU - it's not like the newer fuel injection stuff. We have done many and even the old inline 6's were a straight swap for a 350. So have at it and let us know how it works out for you!
