Quick question. Tonight we will be pulling my blown 305 TBI engine from my truck and dumping a 350 in it. The 350 is a Carb'd engine from a 1985 Chevy Camaro which had a 4bbl carb on it. My buddy told me all we have to do is just reuse my intake manifold and throttle body and it should go no problem. Should I be expecting any other surprises while doing this swap?

the intake bolt holes have digffrerent angles....i've drilled em out a bit though to fit

 

Well, we got the intake on the 350 from the 305. Surprisingly enough, we didn't have to drill them out or anything. The bolts went in no problem. We had to modify the valve covers to work with the trucks setup for PCV valve/Breather but that was fairly simple. We just need a few more gaskets (water pump, valve covers and exhaust) and this baby is ready to plop in the truck. I will post on how she goes.

 

so we ran into our first problem/roadblock/omgwtf tonight. Torque converter that is in the truck will not hook to the 350. My buddy thinks he has a torque converter that will work SO!!!!...now we are pulling the Tranny out of the truck as well. I will post updates as we come across more problems, because at this point I am almost 100% sure we will.

 

i ran into this exact problem when i switched my 305 to a 350. gonna need more then the torque converter. gonna have to replace the front pump in the tranny for them to line up and bolt up.
