Default 1996 gmc clicking noise

I did some pulling with my truck, and put it in 4 wheel drive. When I took it out of 4 wheel, there was a slight clicking noise. I went about 20 yards and it quit. Is this a u-joint going out? If so would it be a axle or drive shaft joint. How do I trouble shoot this? Thanks Bruce

Check fluid in your transfer case and all the gear boxes.

My quad did that for awhile while I was plowing snow, and it turned out to be low on gear oil
