1999 broken tranny adapter
I have a 1999 new style silverado 4x4 5.3 ltr
the adapter housing that adapts the tranny to the transfer case is broken. How i do not know or why. But it leaked bad and i ran it out of fluid and blew my tranny. At the time i just thought it was a gasket leak. I took my truck to get my tranny rebuilt and it was then discovered that the adapter was broken. Never thought a thing of it just got it fixed.
Now 3 months later i see a leak under my truck and find its tranny fluid. I take my truck back to the man and he shows me where the adapter has broken AGAIN! He doesnt know the problem but says its not related to the tranny, and that something is causing it to move or vibrate most likely from the front end. I can get the part replaced but it will only happen again so im wondering if anyone on here has ever had this happen to them or have an idea whats causing it and what needs to be done so that it wont break again.

RE: 1999 broken tranny adapter
I was about to post a topic about the same thing but mine is from a suburban 4x4 drivatrain on my 81' CJ7. The adapter broke and i just need to replace it. This is the first time. But from what I've noticed is that it could be the motor mounts going out and causing things to move out of place. Ive already been told that the motor mounts on my CJ are pretty bad.
