I have a 2000 Chevy silverado 1500 with damaged front wheel hub assemblies. The body control module and the front wheel speed sensors were giving me a lot of trouble. The 4WD was kicking in at high speeds and my mechanic believed it to be related to the above issues. The speed sensors were on recall and should have been cleaned or replaced along with the hub assemblies. Has anyone else ever had these issues and is my mechanic correct in that one or a combination of the sensors and missing body control module could have caused the hub assembly issue?

 

I had to have one of my hubs replaced under the recall. My ABS was actuating at slow speeds. Like pulling into a parking space! I got the recall notice about 1 month after this started. Took it to the dealer and they tried just cleaning the sensor. Well ABS acted up pulling out of the dealer and I almost slamed into some nice new shinny cars. I put the truck in park left it running and everything. I caused a tremendous scene screaming at the jackass that wrote my order up. I told him my ABS was acting up but he didn't write it down in the work order. Service manager came out and I got new hubs plus a rental truck for a week because It took them a couple of days to get the new hubs in.
