Default 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 hd breakdown

Drove truck to work this morning. everything thing ok. Went to leave work today, doors opened with keyless entry lights work, put key in ignition, radio turns on but the car wont turn over, starter doenst make a sound or anything. No noise is made when the key is turned. Doesnt seem like a battery problem.

What gives?

Thanks so much for the replys...

I would start by checking your fuses, battery, and starter. Try tapping on the starter and see if it does anything. I have had starters go out just like that without a warning, but usually if you tap on them they will give you a few more starts. Good Luck!

Can you describe where the starter is located. I believe I know about what it looks like but if I am looking at the engine from the front would it be to the right or left? Is it near the alternator?

Down low on the passenger side near the exhaust where the motor and trans some together.

I had the same thing happen to me. The starter and solenoid were actually fine but the wiring between the two literally fell apart like dust!!!

well it turned out to need just a jump off and it was fine.. Never had enough battery power to power everything in the car except the starter. Jumped right off though.. ran fine for 5 or 6 days with no hint of a battery problem.. Then this morning I went out to my car and the same thing happend. Turned the key and nothing. I am getting tha battery and alternator checked this afternoon. What does it sound likes the problem? The battery isnt but maybe 6months old at the most. Maybe the alternator not fully charging the battery... I parked it last night at 6pm and went out at 645am to a truck that wouldnt start.

Thanks
