hey guys got a few questions,i have a 01 silverado 1500 ext cab short bed,im looking into lifting it in the next month,i need to no what to look for in lifting it,is it hard to do by yourself,who makes a good lift kit,how much can/should i lift it an what to for rims an tires, also whats the difference between body lifting it an suspension lift,i no it lifts the body but im talking physically an price an whats better to do any info will be a great help its my first lifted truck thanks -pat

You need to decide how much lift you want. There are leveling kits that change the torsion bar keys and either a block or add a leaf for the rear that lift in the 2-3 inch range, cost is a few hundred dollars if you do it yourself to $2,000 to have it done. Usually the shocks will need replaced too. More than that and your looking at changing the A arms etc. I think the Dixon brothers in Las Vegas that offer a complete lift package with off road mods for more wheel travel in the $4,000 to $5,000 range, need to Google them.

well i decided to go with a complete suspension lift doing a 4 inch rancho lift on 35's thanks for the help tmw much appreciated
