Default 2001 Silverado jack

Stupid question.

I had to jack my truck, using the factory jack and wheel chucks. I cannot figure out how they are supposed to go back into the space under the seat. Can someone with a 2001 Silverado post a picture?

Thanks!

I have an '03 and if its like mine, theres a slot on the base of your jack, and mounted on the floor is a tab that goes in that slot, and a mount for the jack. Then ya just screw out the jack by using yer fingers until it hits the other end of the mount to snug it up, and yer done.

Thanks - sorry - I was unclear in my description. I have the jack re-attached to the floor - the problem is the wheel chocks. I can't figure out how they were attached to the jack.

Thanks!

I have an '03 and had a flat tire about 2 weeks ago in Little Rock. The factory jack under the back seat wouldn't even raise the truck high enough for me to get the flat off the truck. I dont have a lift kit or big tires or anything, just factory body height. I cranked the jack as high up as it would go on the lowest part of my truck's underbody and the damn thing bent and then finally broke. I threw that P.O.S. in the dumpster. Luckily, a nice Air Force dude happened to be there with a 2 ton floor jack. He sure saved my butt. Next day I went to O'Reileys and bought a 3 ton 21 inch floor jack with a case so I dont ever have to screw with those little compact jacks ever again. Im liking the AF more and more

The stock jack on the 05' has a tiny top to it with 4 small dimples, and it is supposed to go under the axle. I found out the hard way that it has to be on perfectly level ground to not fall off. Luckily my boss was there and his jack out of the Titan has a big U shape to hold the axle. I asked the tech at chevy and he agreed that they suck and said since I was in waranty that chevy would have come changed it for me. Like I want ot wait for that, and hen wt when I'm out of warantee. Another thing I miss is my 93' had a light under the hood with a long wire and a magnet on the back that was great for flats at night. It would reach easily all the wa to the back of the truck. My 05' has no light at all under the hood.

man, those little lights under the hoods of the generation before my trucks were awesome... i wonder why they stopped putting those in there... seems logical to me to have the light at more than one angle... the electrical center is nice and all, but there's really no need for the light to only shine on it

You have a little hook and wingnut thing that goes around the center of the jack and through the chocks...

Then why did they get rid of it?
