Default 2002 2500HD Suspension problems

I am new to this forum and currently own a 2002 2500 HD with a 6.0 litre engine. I bought this truck new in 02 and have put 58,000 miles on it with very few problems. My primary question here has to do with the front suspension. At about 30,000 miles GM replaced the front ball joints and tie rod ends due to wear. I am starting to have the same problems again and was wondering if there are any upgrades that I can add that would make the ball joints last any longer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Jake

Sounds very premature to me, how often do you get the suspension greased? Are you sure the person doing the job is hitting all the joints?

The local GM dealer has performed all the scheduled maintenance. Ball joints on 3/4 and 1 ton trucksseems to be a fairly common complaintup here in Alaska. Thecoldtends to be a bit harsh on vehicles.
I was just curious if there were any heavier duty control arms that I could use to replace the stock units. The dealer wants $1,200 to replace the upper and lower ball joints and I figured that $1,200 would go a long way toward some aftermarket replacement parts to correct the problem.

Thats alot of money for four ball joints. Ive got an 01 2500hd with over 150k on and have only replace and inner tie rod on it. As far as anything heavy duty or better call 4Wheel Parts Wholesalers or find them on line to see if there are any options out there. You canalsolook in any 4 wheeling magazine to find different companys thatoffer that kind of stuff.

I agree extreme cold is very hard on many car parts. If I were you I would consider getting my vehicle greased more often and/or try a synthetic chassis grease. I use Mobil 1 synthetics in every moving piece on my 2005 Silverado.
