I was wondering how do you inspect the Pitman and Idler arm on my 2003 GMC Sierra 4wd Ext. Cab 5.3L engine? Apparently there are 2 different kinds of pitman arms (3 and 4 grooves). Is there anyway of telling without taking it off the truck? And does the Idler arm that attaches to the drag bar usually wear out or is it the Hanger connected to the frame? I know someone is going to suggest getting a Haynes manual, and I'm working on that now, but sometimes it's better to get suggestions from you guys as you know these trucks inside and out and can give helpful info. Any info will be greatly appreciated! Take care guys!
