Just recently bought a 04 crew cab. The ac seems fairly loud inside the cab when it is at max or just below. Never owned this body style and was wondering if this is simply just the way they are. Only is loud when recirculating, sound is coming from passenger windshield vent. Is this truly how they are or do I have an issue?

 

The cabin filters might be clogging up. Does the vents blow the air pretty good? These trucks use cabin air filters now to filter the air used for cooling and heating. They sit under the dash on the passenger side.

 

I totally agree...those fans get pretty loud when that filter gets clogged.

 

I thought the same called the auto parts store and they sell a filter. I then researched it online and called the dealer and they say they do not have the filter, ended in 03 unless specified on order. Does anyone have images of one on an 04? I feel the vent pressure is weak and the noise would make sense, but not sure.
