Unhappy 2005 A/C problem

My 05 sierra a/c is not cooling very well. I have not checked pressures yet, but everything (fans, belts and controls) seems to be working fine. The system is freezing up after you run it for a few minutes, like it maybe low of freon. Has anybody else had this problem and what was your fix ?

Welcome to the forum I hope you stick around. I had that same problem when my freon was low just charge it up and it will be fine but before look for signs of oil around your hoses and what not for the leak. Say guys won't he have to use a paper clip to by-pass the low pressure switch just to get the compressor going or maybe not if it's still turn on I think it's still turning on.

What do you mean by freezing ?

is your ac light blinking when it goes off ?

is your ac clutch engaging ?

usually when your ac works for a few minutes and then shuts off it means your system is overcharged. or you could be low on freon. Because most vehicles use rubber hoses freon slowly leaks out over time. try recharging the system and look for leaks.
