2005 GMC transmission problem
I bought the truck new. It now has 13000 miles on it. Sometimes When I stop at a light and it turns green - I give it gas- the engine revs then bang- it's like I have it in neutral and put it in drive at 1500 rpm. Of course the GMC service center takes it on a test drive and finds no problems. It's like it happens 1 or 2 times a month. Anybody have the same condition???

I also bought my truck new and have noticed the same problem a couple of times. also I have noticed a clunk like a universal going bad when turning corners at intersections and stepping on the gas midway through the corner. I put the truck on the lift to check them and the universal's show no play.

RE: 2005 GMC transmission problem
I am going to try to put syntethic in it to see if that fixes it. When I took it to GM I also complained second gear engages kind of hard. They said it's normal. Everything is normal- steering shaft- Transmission. Then when it hits 36,000 or three years. Yea the transmission is bad- Have to replace your steering shaft. That will be $4000.
If a service center works on these things everyday- WHY CAN'T THEY FIX THEM?????????? They know what's wrong with them. I guess warranty reinburisment is very small.

RE: 2005 GMC transmission problem
I was talking to a friend of mine about this, he had a older GMC a few years ago and he say's it sounds like the same problem he had with his, and it turned out to be the torque convertor. and of course as long as it doesn't do when you take to the dealer they just say can't help you until we know what the problem is.
