2006 Steering clunk?
Hey guys, i had my intermidiate shaft replaced under warrenty due to the beginning of a clunking sound. it was done about 6-9 months ago and the ticket said replaced with updated intermidiate shaft.
i was wondering if they fixed it so the grease wont dry out or whatever the problem is with the shaft or does GM just replace it with the same part?
the reason i ask is becasue it feels like the clunk is starting to come back. it happens when im sitting still and i turn my wheel left or right. is this just because of resistance while the truck is sitting still on pavement or is the intermidiate shaft going bad again?
thanks for the help.

RE: 2006 Steering clunk?
a new design shaft was released last fall..it ends in 14...163514,or something like that..
its a greaseless design, and 100% eliminates the problem.it lists for 90 bucks, but we sell em for about 69$....
and no,gm is not recalling them or opffwering any help...i guess they figure its not a safety issue, and the part is cheap enough.
again...make SURE you get the new design...ending in 14
