Red face 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 problem....

I changed my oil myself a month ago and sometimes now on cold start up I hear a tinging noise in the engine... could this mean i'm not getting enough oil to my valves? I switched to Mobil 1 synthetic and I put a FRAM filter... any advice would be appriciated.

the synthetic oil is thinner and probably drains out of the upper end of the motor as it sets over night

Mines been doin that for years since I started using synthetic. No problems. How many miles do you have though?

Well you dont wanna put synthetic in a very low mileage motor. Something like after 15k miles would be ok. They did this to some new vettes and recalled them for new motors cuz the synthetic was so slick it didnt allow the motors to break in and let the rings set.
