3"/5" lowering kit with 22" rims
Forum members,
I currently have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2WD, extended cab short bed on a 5"/7" DJM lowering kit on 22" rims with 285/30/22 tires. I am looking to go to a 3"/5" lowering kit, keeping the same 22" rims, bug going with a 285/35/22 tire. Has anyone on here done this and if so, is there enough clearance with the 35 series tires and does it rub in the back? For those of you that are not aware of this, the rear axle on a Silverado's is slightly longer on the passenger side and you do not notice this until you lower your vehicle and realize that the bed rubs on the passenger side tire. I also want to get away from 30 series tires because I have been bending rims and knocking the tires off the bead several times. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
