Default 4WD question

Hello,
Where I fist bought my truck about 3 weeks ago the "service 4wd" came up on the dash display. I turned the truck off and restarted it the warning went away. Then today after pulling my boat around it came on again. I shut it down and restarted, message gone. I noticed when the warning came on, I was locked into 2 hi. I pushed the Auto 4wd, 4wd hi, and 4wd lo and nothing happend. Before I take in to get looked at, has anyone had the same problem in an 04?

Thanks,
Tom

This is a common problem with the 4WD selector switch. Some have fixed it by re-soldering the connections inside the switch. I simply bought a new switch for about $35.
