5.3 Engine Beef
I know I'm posting alot of stuff on here, Its my first time one here and I have alot to say about my Chevy.
(Before Hypertech) I raced my buddy and his 99 Accord (all riced out) and lost miserably, even off the start. I then raced my roommates 2002 S-10 4.3, 2WD and we were dead even! I mean dead even all the way! I then learned about this Torque Management crap that GM uses. What BS! After screwing with the programming I got them both good! That makes me mad because you have all that power to play with and you can't put it to the pavement without modifying it! (Ok, I spoke my mind Im happy)

I totatlly agree with that! But it wasn't as bad in my truck until I installed my Flowmaster... now it is rediculous. I can't wait to reprogram my ECU to correct that problem. Good thing is once you are on a roll it ain't bad. From a dead start though it will kill you.

The torque management system is basically a WOT(Wide Open Throttle) timer that keeps you from scalding the tires. It should help you not to spin out in the rain and not get stuck offroad. But if you are just driving refularly or drag racing, it's a pain in the butt. I don't know what the timer is set to and it seems to change depending on whether your at a dead stop or a roll, but I know in my truck if I floor it it takes about 2-3 seconds before it goes WOT. Even then it doesn't go straight into it. It kind of slowly works into WOT. You can remove that by reprogramming the ECU. Wheatley Tuning can remove that feature from your computer... or disable it I guess would be more accurate.
