Default 5.3L WHAT IS THE STOCK HORSE POWER

I HAVE A 06 SILVERADO CREW CAB AND I WAS WONDERING WHAT THE STOCK HORSE POWER AND TORQUE? I WAS ALSO WONDERING WHAT KIND OF HORSE POWER I HAVE: I HAVE A K&N INTAKE, FLOWMASTER EXHAUST, AND THEENERGY MAX PROGRAMMER. I WANT TO GO TO THE DYNO TO SEE WHAT THE TRUE POWER I HAVE. DO YOU THINK THAT I COULD BEAT A O6 DODGE CREW CAB. THANKS GUYS

your stock power to the engine is 295hp@5200 RPM. torque is 335ftlb @ 4000 RPM. probably take 15-20% off to get rear wheel power.
I have the same setup you have but in an ext cab. the dyno sheets from their websites state:
K&N: +11.92hp @5367RPM
Hypertech: 87 octane=250hpmax to rear wheels @ 5250RPM, 279lbft of torque max @ 3750RPM.
flowmaster maybe mutiply your base hp and torque by 5%.

i doubt you could beat a hemi but maybe. i still get smoked by Nissan Titans. but the 3.e42 gears dont help towing or draging.
what gears do you have?
i would love to know the results of your dyno run when you get it done.

good luck

I believe mine stock is 275, but only 245 or so at the wheels.

Not bad considering:

99 Ford 4.6: 230
99 Dodge 4.7: 230
99 Toyota (whatever their small V8 was before the 5.7): 230

But the Predator was the best improvement. I get 4% more out of 87 octane (11hp), 6% more out of 91+ with that alone (16hp). Then if I got another 6% with the intake, TBS and Stat, then I figure I have the potnetial for about 300 at the crank. Maybe 275 at the wheels.

The guys on ls1truck dyno'ed some of there trucks and stock hp for a 5.3 was about 230-240hp. With those mods, hitting the wheels you probably got like 255

NOPE! We are both wrong!

If this is correct, this hurts!

Hell I bet my 91 put down more than that when I was done with it!

But they have the 00-01 making 261 stock at the rear wheels! Something doesn't smell right.

wouldn't measurement be straight from the wheels only though?
to get nominal horsepower of the engine it self is simply:
nhp = 7 x area of piston x equivalent piston speed/33,000 (wikipedia.org)

therefore the dyno would only be measuring the HP at the wheels.
or am i out to lunch?

yea a dyno measures power at the rear wheels which is the power that matters.

No from what ive been told you usually take about 15-20% away for transfercase, transmission, driveshaft, and all that stuff. so 295 @80% would roughly be about 236-240 at the rear wheels.
