92 Silverado pinion seal leak
I am new to this site but have 3 Chevy trucks. I am having a problem with the pinion seal leaking on my 92 Silverado 2WD. I have replaced the seal twice. I replaced the yoke with the GM replacement with the wear sleave already on it and the new updated seal. It STILL leaks! I can't find the vent on the housing if it has one and pressure is my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Try appying a thin film of RTV (slicone) to the OD of a new seal before installing. Add same to ID of your yoke end. There is most likely a vent at the top of the axle housing, some OEMs add a short hose and secure it to brake lines or park cables.

I did apply RTV sealer to the outside of the seal and a coat in the housing before installing the seal. I checked the housing for damage to the seal area and it is smooth with no grooves or gouges. I checked the housing to see if the seal area was out of roud but it is dead perfect round. I also coated the inside of the NEW yoke and the pinion splines with RTV. I have also replaced the pinion and carrrier bearings and preload is correct. It is still leaking at the seal and dripping off the housing. Anyone ever have this problem? Thanks for any input.
