'99 Sierra window motor?
Hi all,
I have a '99 Sierra, and there is something wrong with the drivers door window motor. I have the panel off, and I found out the guts are cable driven from an electric motor. From the appearence of things, it looks like the cable came out of its groove at the motor, and wound around the actuator somehow.
It makes a binding noise, and will not raise the window up. (although I can push the window up by hand. It seems to go down fine, without too much binding noise.
Any suggestions, fixes, or anything?
Thanks.

RE: '99 Sierra window motor?
The one I bought had the motor on it. Look in a junk yard and see if they can order you one like new. I went to the dealer and they wanted $60 more there. Got lucky and found mine for $200 through an auto recycler. The one i got was brand new with motor.

Well......[:@]
Between my work schedule, and not having the money to buy a motor, I havent done anything with it. My father in law has a shop, and he can get me one at cost, but the $79 extra, I dont have. Hopefully, this next payday I can get it.
I havent even really tired to fiddle with trying to fix the old one, either. I am kind of frustrated by the way GMC made the door, in the fact that the inside is more enclosed, and you cant see alot of the way the mechanism is laid out. I probably should buy a Chiltons or Haynes book for the truck, since I have a few other things I need to fix on it as well.
Thanks for asking. When I get the project done, I will post back!
