Default AC Delco Oil Filters

I was wondering if anyone might know, if the correctAC Delco oil filters for my '03 Silverado w/ 4.8L is the PF46. My wife has an '02 Avalanche w/ the 5.3L, i was told they both take the PF46. Anyone know for certain?

Thanx all for the replies, one of the denotes on a filter book was something about a checkvalve, and i weren't sure if they had it but when they come from dealer / manufacturer w/ AC Delco's, then i guess it is the right one. Jim

Is CarQuest's premium the Wix filter? I know that's what Napa and O'reilly's sell as their premium filters and most of the locals that seem to know anything about cars prefer them. I on the other hand haven't noticed much of any difference between that and a good ol' Wal-Mart Fram oil filter. I did however splurge and stick a Mobile 1 oil filter on it last time though.

I wouldn't go all fancy with the filter. AC Delco will work just fine. Just don't buy junk off-brand one.

I like the napa performance filters though havent seen really a difference between them and the nicer hastings oil filters Im used to. But never can go wrong with OE AC Delco or the K & N.
