RE: Is anyone familiar with Magnaflow exhaust?
VW engines are porsche engines... vice versa. My neighbor was telling me about when he was a teenager he had a VW beetle and he said he put Porsche headers on it to make it sound better.

This is the cat back from Magnaflow I am looking at. It is a single in dual out as Smoke20 suggested. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...cks&id=127
It's the model 15481.
I'm also looking at thisMAGNAFLOW PERFORMANCE EXHAUST CATALYTIC CONVERTER http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/s...ks&id=1055

I bought a used Magnaflow muffler and tailpipe. It is dual 3" in, single 4" out/tailpipe. It's a little loud for my taste. I haven't really been on any kind of extended trip to see how it is at a consistent RPM, 50-65 MPH. I'm gonna run it for a while and see if I get used to it or maybe take it off and re-install stock, or even try something else.

Been a while since I have posted, I can comment to you on the sound of a magnaflow muffler itself. The sound is nice whenever you are on it. At cruise you will wonder where the sound is. Nice depending on you. I kind of like to hear my stuff. I have had my headers for some time now. I picked up a set of JBA cat4ward headers since these are about the best application for California. I am finally going to install them this week. I can't wait. I am also going to get a custom tune this week. Can't wait till that torque management crap is gone. I went Dual in and dual out on the muffler however it is not true dual. It is only dual from where the cats y together. I like the setup. I definitely like the throaty sound of the muffler. Hope this helps.

Put on my headers this morning and there is a very noticable performance difference. I am not happy with the sound of the muffler though. I also learned that when I had my muffler installed the guys put true dual on it. So now I have another crisis. I think I will go with the super 44 like everyone has been talking about. The guy at the muffler shop told me this morning that when someone comes in with a family wagon he installs a magnaflow for them because it is basically quiet most of the time.
