Well there is one dealer out here that stands by the Kenwood decks for reliability but Ive already been through one Excellon deck already but at least it was on warranty and I had a buddy who had a couple of them give him trouble though I question his wiring job. :S

Pioneer is a great too. My first Sony lasted me three years and then I sold it with the car. They are durable as hell. If you compare the sound to Alpine and Pioneer, the both sound better then the Sony tho. My Pioneer is prob still ticking in my ex-girlfreinds car and that is four years old now. My Alpines never gave me any problems at all, and my first one was referbished. The thing that really sold me on the Alpine was it has a Media Expander and a Bass Engine that makes even the crappiest speakers sound good. (Chevy paper 4X6 for example).
