Well, it's not the fuel pump. New one's in, turned on the ignition and nothing. Messed with relay, truck started. Ran for about 30 seconds and shut off. Going to replace relay and see if that fixes things. I still think there's more to it. Hopefully I'm wrong and a simple relay will solve everything.

Might as well test all the wires, as much fun as that won't be.

It's not the relay. Here's the deal...

When I turn on the ignition and there are no lights in the dash (service engine soon, brake, seat belt, etc.) the fuel pump doesn't work. We gave it some time and my brother tried it again. I heard the fuel pump running and immediately asked him if the lights were on in the dash. They were. He started the truck and it ran fine for 2-3 minutes. I had him turn it off. He went to restart it and there were no dash lights. Just as thought...the truck wouldn't start. Anyone know what it could be. I sure could use my truck to go get some firewood. I can't seem to find any info on this. Could it be the ignition switch? There's power to the radio, dome light, door ajar chime, etc. There's no power to the dash system or fuel pump. There's something in between that's malfunctioning...I just don't know where to look. The wiring harness looks fine. The engine bay is next to spotless. The old guy I bought the truck from only put about 100 miles on it in the time he owned it. Before that, it would have been detailed at a used dealership. Perhaps when they sprayed the engine bay, they got water somewhere? What do you guys think? I need to check the fuses. I have a gauge. What setting do I want it on and what am I looking for on the dial?

Thanx again...

Well, I got a call from my cousin-in-law who's the service manager at a local GM dealership. Seems my ignition switch is bad. It's something I suspected. This is gonna be fun...I've never took a column apart before. Top it off...there's an airbag...wooohooo!

Well, guess I'll get started Tues. or Wed. Man I hope this is all...
