best 1990's GMC?
I'm looking to purchase GMC truck in the mid to late '90's'. This will be my first GMC. I plan put sides on the box and tow a small Uhaul to BC from Ont. I have about four thousand to spend. What years would you recommend as being the most 'bullet proof'. My wife will be doing a lot of the driving while I'm in another vehicle so I don't want any problems if possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

What do mean about "I plan to put sides on the box"? If you are looking towards a pick-up than I would go with a full size truck with the 5.7 liter motor if your just towing a small trailer. I like the 2500 series trucks with the bigger transmission and brakes for towing. If you can find a 1996 or newer you can take advantage of the newer fuel injection (Vortec Motor) which has a little more power. I assume you will want 4X4 being up in the snow country. The 4WD with the shifter on the floor seems to be more reliable then the push button but both are sufficient. Good luck!

I plan to put temporary plywood 4 foot front and sides and back on the box to haul furniture. Which years are considered best built in the '90's'? I'm asking about the 90's because I only have $4,000.00 total to spend. I don't plan on doing any off road driving. Is a rear wheel drive less expensive to operate gas wise than a 4X4?
