best option for a sagging rear end
my 97 1500 has 223,xxx on the clock, and its a safe bet 100,xxx of those were spent pulling a tractor on a fifth wheel. so needless to say the rear springs are done, as are the factory shocks. I've been looking at options.
blocks are out of the question, since the bounce would still be there. Would add-a-leafs help/solve the bounce problem?
if i replace the springs, would hd springs give it a height boost? and if so, how much?
also, i have a pair of 4" lift shocks from my old k5 that could go on, but im afraid they'll be too long and wont ride very well... thoughts and opinions?

Is the rear actually sagging? If so, I would look at a salvage yard for a good used set. I would not use shocks that are intended for a 4" lift on a stock height truck. Shocks are cheap so I would buy the right ones.
