RE: Blue smoke
I'VE BEEN REALLY BUSY AT WORK...so that takes its toll on web-time...and as we've been thru before, when a post begins something like "I refuse to take it to the crooks at a dealer"...i pretty much surf on.obviously, they don't want my help.

I'v e never had probs with any dealers just them damn pushy sale's men. You pay for what you get. If you take it to a back yard shop then you get back yard shop work if you want it done right by someone that knows there sh*t than take it to a dealer. They work on the same stuff every day.

Anyway, to get back on topic, Steve I know O'reilly Auto Parts sells that chemical test kit you can use to test for a blown head gasket. The other parts stores should too but if not I'd suggest them if you have one close by. Let us know what happens.

Well I didnt get to do anything to it today like I wanted to never took a lunch either. But ill get it tomorrow and ill look for what Argon said to look for. What is this kit you speak of how do you use it?

RE: Blue smoke
Don't remember what it's called. It's got directions in the kit though. Any auto parts store will know what your talking about(usually). If not ask EVERYBODY in the store. You'll find somebody who knows. They use the exact same kit at the dealerships so you know it works.

If it does have a blown head gasket the best way to find out is a compression test isn't it Argon? Or use that chemical kit that you put some of your coolant in and it changes color if it detects exhaust gases in it. Actually the latter would be easier to do.

Well I went to check my truck out today at lunch and the freaking batt. is dead. If I had some cables they probably would have stole they when they broke in my truck so I guess ill have to wait till tomorrow Because I wont get out of here till around 11pm if im lucky. These 16 to 18 hour days are getting old but the money isn't. I get allot of down time waiting on the Japs.
