A/C compressor making noise

People are saying that with hot outside temperatures, it shouldn't cycle at all, always on.

It cycles to keep the lines from freezing up, it is true that the hotter it is the less it will cycle. Also the lower you have the fan speed on the more it will cycle. On a very hot day with the fan on high it should very rarely if ever cycle. If your inside temp is comfortable then I wouldn't worry about it.

The faster you can get the condensor to cool off, the more it will cycle, the cooler it blows inside. But this only applies when in stop and go traffic and idle. After about 30 mph ram air takes place in cooling.
