Default carburated heads question......

Ok, heres the deal, I have a 350 block out of a 90's truck, i'm putting it into a 84 scottsdale it has a 305, i'm converting the fuel pumps and heads/intake with a new carb, ok I want to pick up a used pair of vortec heads to put on it, but I'm not sure if they make carburated vortec heads, does anyone know any cars/trucks I can pull them from along with the intake to bolt it up to the 350?

P.S. does anyone know a good/cheap way to get some extra HP out of some heads, I have the original scottsdale heads, but I want to replace them with some vortec heads..hence the quetion....

thanks alot!

vortec heads are completely different...your carbed intake will not bolt to it..however,i've heard of custom intakes that bolt to vortecs and hold a carb

Edlebrock makes an intake like that and I believe summit makes a cheaper one too. Yes, they will bolt to the vortec heads and a carb. My suggestion would be to get a quadrajet (sp?) carb and slap that puppy on there. If you get the carb jetted right it will give you plenty of power and as long as you keep the secondaries from opening up all the time your gas mileage won't suffer too much (AKA lay off the pedal!)
