I can't believe it. I had changed the battery today as I have done in the past. The wife and I are heading to Corvettes at Carlisle in two weeks. I start the truck right up shes charging fine, I look at the radio and I see LOC. I tried everything to unlock the darn thing (last three digits of vin, 123)and nothing now Monday I need to have the dealer scan it for a code. The strange thing is I never set a code in it, What gives?

Help with this, suggestions help Please.....(not being cheap but just can't take time from work at this point).

 

It's a theft deterant feature. ...I don't know if this will work, but with other cars I'va had in the past - if you turn the key just before the it starts to turn over and leave it there for about an hour, it might unlock it.

someone...somewhere...put a code in it.

The dealer can unlock it...they get an "ID" out of the radio...call a certain # and enter it....the center then gives the dealer a "backup code" that was assigned to your radio when she was built.

We get .5 to unlock 1..(26.50$)...but I've heard of some big city dealers gettin a 100 bucks

1997, I don't care to much about the money it's the not having the use of the truck for a day. it's my work truck for the moment.Thats what my dealer told me (unreal but true).

 

I have heard of a website..

where you get the factory backup code....(usually 6 digits...like 424,426)....then that website has THOUSANDS of "secret" unlock codes...if yours is on the list...

But I have no idea where that website is
