It could also be a blend door issue

okay just got back from the dealer and I was told that my heater core is stopped up. They asked me when was the last time I changed my coolant and I have not since I bought the truck last year. I was informed that the coolant that they use will gell up after 5 years and this is what is stopping the core up. My options were to have a flush done and this may unstop the heater core this is a 239 dollar option or I can have the dealer replace the core and this will cost 745 dollars....OUCH. So anyway I payed the 43 dollar diagnostic fee and on the way home guess what my heater is working I don`t know what they did but it is blowing out very hot heat for how long I do not know.

I wonder if you switch the hoses around so it flows the other way that might get the clog out of the heater core.

i would suggest doing your own flush while you have the coolant flowing so it doesnt stop up on you again.
